Our client, a company specializing in private lending for businesses, is seeking a meticulous Senior Underwriter with expertise in private loan underwriting and risk assessment within the financial services industry.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing loan requests, evaluating financial information, and approving loans to support business growth while ensuring minimal risk exposure for the company.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze loan requests, assessing the financial health and creditworthiness of applicants.
• Evaluate business financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to determine loan eligibility.
• Approve or deny loan applications based on thorough analysis and established lending criteria.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements throughout the underwriting process.
• Prepare detailed underwriting reports and documentation to support loan decisions.
• Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to provide clear and accurate information regarding loan approvals and denials.
• Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to maintain up-to-date underwriting practices.
• Provide guidance and support to junior underwriters, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in private loan underwriting, with a focus on cash advance or private lending for businesses.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, credit analysis, and risk assessment to make informed underwriting decisions.
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills, ensuring accurate evaluations and minimal risk exposure.
• Proficiency in underwriting software and financial analysis tools to streamline the review process.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying complex financial concepts to stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage a high volume of loan requests efficiently.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, enabling the handling of multiple tasks and priorities.
• In-depth knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to legal standards.
