The Intercollegiate Athletic Director will provide vision and leadership for the athletic programs by developing plans, organizing, coordinating, and managing all aspects of intercollegiate athletics on both campuses. The Director is responsible for Athletic Department fundraising; manages schedules, staff, budgets and public relations for all teams and is responsible for all records necessary for eligibility. The Director implements and directs the athletic programs at the College in compliance with the rules and regulations of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) and in accordance with the College’s Board Policies. The Director is also the manager of facilities and equipment, which are part of the program. The Director also serves as the institutional representative to the NJCAA, Region 11 and ICCAC.
This position is a full-time professional services position with a starting salary of $80,000 per year.
The position also includes the full SCC benefits package- medical, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, sick leave, vacation, discretionary leave, paid spring and holiday breaks and participation in IPERS or TIAA retirement plan.
Terms of employment are per the employment contract and relevant policies and guidelines of the Board of Trustees.
The position will uphold college policies and procedures and supports and participates in college-wide initiatives. The incumbent is expected to actively promote a positive image for the college district and support SCC’s mission, vision, values and goals.
