We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Rod and Chill Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Rod and Chill Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining rod production and cooling (chill) equipment to ensure consistent quality and output. This role involves working with machinery, inspecting materials, and ensuring the production process meets all safety and quality standards.
Set up, operate, and monitor rod and chill production equipment.
Ensure material feed, cooling temperatures, and machine speeds are correctly adjusted for optimal performance.
Inspect rods for proper dimensions, finish, and quality.
Perform routine maintenance and report any equipment malfunctions.
Maintain accurate production and quality records.
Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
Work closely with supervisors and quality inspectors to resolve production issues.
Assist with material handling, packaging, and labeling of finished products.
Previous experience in a manufacturing or extrusion environment preferred.
Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work orders, and quality standards.
Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to stand, lift, and move materials throughout the shift (up to 50 lbs).
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends or overtime as needed.
