We’re looking for an experienced Inpatient Facility Coder to join our team.
Review medical records and assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS , and MS-DRG/APR-DRG codes accurately.
Ensure documentation and coding meet federal regulations, payer requirements, and official guidelines .
Use grouper software to determine correct DRG assignments.
Collaborate with CDI specialists and auditors to support documentation accuracy.
Submit queries to providers for clarification as needed.
Help respond to coding denials and support appeals.
Stay up to date with coding updates and industry best practices.
Meet organizational productivity and quality benchmarks .
2+ years of inpatient coding experience (required)
Active AHIMA certification (CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred)
Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS , DRG grouping, and compliance standards
Familiarity with EPIC and/or 3M 360 Encoder (preferred)
Exceptional attention to detail , time management, and analytical thinking
