Catastrophe Adjuster Location Remote :
Position Summary:
The position is responsible for prompt and thorough investigation and coverage evaluation of routine to complex residential catastrophe property claims.
Essential Functions:
- End-to-end handling of catastrophe claims, including both field and desk handling activities
- Coordination and oversight of adjusting activity with third-party vendors and independent adjusting firms during large-scale event responses
- Supporting logistics of mobilizing the catastrophe plan/team
- May be called upon to support logistics of the catastrophe response process such as first notice of loss, claim assignment, adjuster mobilization, etc.
- Providing regular reporting to Management on the performance of catastrophe and third-party adjusting resources
- Prompt and courteous servicing of property claims including insured, and agency contact and follow through.
- Communicate and interact with a variety of individuals to foster the timely resolution of claims- including, but not limited to policyholders, public adjusters, field adjusters, internal departments, attorneys, vendors, and experts.
- Timely identification, analysis and resolution of coverage issues arising in claims investigation.
- Factual investigation of cause of loss.
- Preparation and submission of detailed estimates of damaged property.
- Maintain proper file documentation reflecting claim adjustment.
- Coverage and Settlement Letters completed and reviewed with applicable parties.
Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum HS Diploma or equivalent
- Must maintain a Florida licensed All-Lines adjuster (620), and yearly Continuing Education as required by licensing division of DFS.
- 3+ years of property claims adjustment experience.
- Knowledge of property insurance policy and coverage analysis.
- Strong skills and experience with Xactimate estimating program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional designation or degree.

- Must be able to work under deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.
