JOB DESCRIPTION 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Business Loan Underwriter to join our growing team. In this role, you will assess, analyze, and decision commercial loan applications while balancing risk, accuracy, and speed. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional partners and external clients. 

RESPONSIBILITES

• Review and underwrite commercial loan applications by analyzing creditworthiness, financial strength, and overall risk. 
• Manage and prioritize a pipeline of deals, ensuring timely decisions while maintaining quality and risk controls. 
• Conduct thorough evaluations of cash flow, bank statements, credit reports, financial statements, and supporting documentation. 
• Prepare clear, concise, and well-supported credit decisions that outline borrower strengths, weaknesses, and key risk
  factors.
• Collaborate closely with processing, sales, and operations teams to ensure smooth and accurate loan workflow.
• Assist with loan processing and customer service functions when needed to support departmental goals.
• Contribute positively to team culture, fostering a cooperative, productive, and solution- focused environment.
  

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of professional experience in underwriting, loan processing, or a related financial services role.
• Prior experience with commercial, consumer, or mortgage lending preferred.
• Experience working with brokers or in wholesale lending is a strong plus.
• Strong understanding of lending policies, financial analysis, and credit evaluation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. 
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with a desire to contribute to a healthy and engaging team culture. 
• High School diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred.
