JOB SUMMARY: Ensure an engaging, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for our customers and guests. Prepare customer's beverages according to pre-determined recipes or by request. Serve prepared food according to guidelines. Ensure coffee bar area is neat and clean and follow all food sanitization standards. Able to adapt to the needs in the Bistro to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction with their Bistro experience. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Greets guests, take order accurately, seek clarification if needed and closing transition with correct method of payment.
- Learn and recall drink recipes, follow direction on serving prepared food items. Provide customers with descriptions if needed and answer product questions.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications; maintaining personal networks.
- Enter orders on the POS machine, ensuring special requests made by the guest while ordering the food are notated.
- Restock and clean condiment areas, empty trash and recycling as needed.
- Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed on shift checklist or by supervisor.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Assist with inventory controls as needed
- Ensure all food handling, safety, and sanitization protocols are followed at all times.
- Promptly respond to guest with any additional request.
- Assist in all other areas of the Bistro, including but not limited to, cleaning, placing food orders, delivering food, clearing tables and restocking supplies.
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
- Adhere to shift schedule and attendance guidelines.
- Print closing report and drop the cash deposits per company guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS: - Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 40 lbs., independently.
- Ability to obtain a food handlers card and alcohol beverage service cards, or other applicable licensing in accordance with local food and beverage service ordinances.
- Serve-Safe certification desired, must be able to obtain upon hire.
QUALIFICATIONS: - High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous food service experience, either as a barista or with at a Starbucks is highly desirable.
- Ability to communication verbally and in writing to explain menus and place orders.
