Job Description Summary

We are seeking an experienced accounting clerk for a full-time position, available immediately. The qualified candidate will have strong quantitative and interpersonal skills, as well as proficiency in basic accounting functions and software programs (Sage 50 experience is a plus). This person must be a team player who is organized with high attention to accuracy and detail, and who has an interest in building successful relationships with clients. Since our business environment is always changing, a willingness to learn and the ability to adapt are essential to this job function.

Accounting Clerk Duties

•  Answering incoming phone calls, addressing customer inquiries, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor, taking payments and any other function for the customer.
•  Accounts Payables:
• Paying invoices coming from different departments in the company as well as in the mail.
• Verifying that all charges have been charged back to the customers where required.
• Entering invoices into Peachtree/Sage for our vendor payouts.
• Once completed, send it to bookkeeper for check printing.
• Scan and save all invoices to shared drive to ensure accurate and timely management of paperwork.
• Complete daily deposit as back-up for the main deposit processor.
•  Verify vendor charges monthly and ensure timely payment of charges.
• Post and process checks for lease company repossession bills from the Fleet-Lease department.
• Operate multi-line telephone system to answer incoming calls.
• Track W-9 and form 5000 for all vendors to ensure we have the most up-to-date information as well as providing our vendors with our most up to date tax forms when requested.
• Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager and may be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
• 3 + years of Bookkeeping experience is required.
• Prior knowledge of accounting software required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (particularly Excel, Word, & Outlook)
• Effective communication and organizational skills required.
• Commitment to providing excellent customer service required.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time and ability to perform repetitive data entry tasks, manual dexterity.
• Vision abilities required include close, distance and depth perception.

Schedule

• Full-Time Position
• Mon-Thursday 9 am – 5 pm Fridays 9am – 1 pm
